Missional Community = A network of Christ followers passionate for God and His mission among a specific people group, population segment, or place that is not being effectively engaged with the gospel. This informal community of believers will be advocates, participants, and mobilizers in a mission initiative or partnership. They will promote prayer and resources for their mission initiative, go on short-term trips, and motivate others to get involved. Any Christ follower can be part of a community on mission! There is no formal sign up… to be part of a missional community, one must volunteer to go on a trip and/or help here at home with a mission initiative.
Core Team = A group of 5 to 10 people from a missional community will form a team that will lead an initiative on behalf of the church. The core team will lead their missional community to advocate the cause of Christ for their focus people group. Mission initiative team leaders and global i staff select core team members. Members of the core team will serve in various roles here at home and on the field.
