Connect to God through Worship
We all worship something. Maybe we worship our work, our money (or someone else's), a celebrity, our leisure, or something else. God wired us to worship...to worship Him. Often, our problem is that we end up worshiping the creation rather than the Creator.
FBCSmyrna's desire is to help you make life's most critical connection, a relationship with God that begins in worship.
God designed worship to be both individual and in community. Individually, we do that through reading and living out His Words in the Bible, prayer, and more. In community, we come together to declare God's greatness and hear His truth.
To take that first step in connecting to God in Worship, join us for weekly worship services in venues that are engaging, relevant, and helpful to our life where you will have the opportunity to hear from God.
Want to serve in worship?
We seek to give expression to our worship of Creator God through the artistic gifts and talents that He has given to so many people in our community. Although we have a number of people who lend their talents to some incredible worship experiences every week, there is always room for more. Here are some ways you can serve in the worship arts at FBCSmyrna.
Band and Vocal Team
We have an incredible group of players and singers who give their hearts and talents to making worship each week musically strong and spiritually authentic. We also serve together as a family and have a lot of fun. If you can crank it up or belt it out, know that there is never a shortage of opportunities for you to use your talent.
We have two scheduled band and vocal audition times a year. Our next auditions will be Saturday, November 8. If you are interested, the first step is to fill out this application.
Worship Choir
Each week a group of people gets together to raise the roof with their voices and prepare to lead worship with passion, heart, and soul. This group is our Worship Choir. They rehearse weekly and help lead worship in our 9 am service three times a month. Maybe you are not comfortable with personal auditions or singing solos but still have a desire to blend your voice and heart of worship with others as a lead worshipper. If so, then Worship Choir is for you. We rehearse Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00pm in the choir room behind the Auditorium. Feel free to come and join us.
Songwriting Workshop
We strongly believe God has given our congregation its own voice to be expressed in worship through the writing of our own songs to sing. We have many gifted songwriters in the FBCSmyrna community. Maybe you are one of them. We meet the last Saturday of every month from 9:00–11:00am to share new songs, encourage each other, and learn more about the craft of songwriting. We also have very experienced and well-established guest speakers come and share some of their wisdom with us.

Creative Programming
We love to dream up cool creative ways to keep our worship service fun, fresh and deeply meaningful. We feel that happens by the collaboration of gifted people. A lot of people help design and construct cool sets, write and perform challenging drama, poetry and songs, create expressive art work through painting or drawing or photography or maybe even give fresh expression through interpretive dance. If any of this describes what you give your creative energies to, there is ample opportunity to use your gifts here.
